A PROPERTY IN THE HEART OF SAINT EMILION
The Feytit family have owned this property since 1949. It is situated two kilometres from the village of Saint-Emilion.
OUR EXCEPTIONAL TERROIR
Today our vineyard is made up of 14 hectares in Saint Emilion, and 1 Ha 25 in Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion. We use three grape varieties in the following proportions 80% Merlot 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec. The property is divided into eight plots of different terroirs. Saint Christophes des Bardes: “Grand Treuil” sector – Limestone-Clay, “LeBournaud” sector – Clay. Saint Emilion: Sector « Cabanes Sud », « Cabonneyre », « Lagarde », « Faurie », « Saupiquet » – Sandy soil with iron deposits. Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion “Divon” sector – Clay.
The average age of the vineyard is 48 years. We do still have a plot in the “Grand Treuil” sector, which has one hundred-year-old vines. These ancient vines are hollow-inside and covered in moss. They are not very productive but at harvest-time their quality is always outstanding.
Authorized yields vary from year to year depending on the appellations.
For example for 2010 Saint-Emilion-Grand-Cru : 49 hl / ha, Saint-Emilion: 55 hl / ha, Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion: 55 hl / Ha.
